Even before the compulsory membership of every OFW to the Pag-ibig POP Fund, I saw the need to invest a small part of my hard-earned money to this one with the goal of being eligible to avail of a housing loan. That was in 2008 starting with a $15 monthly contribution. Eventually, the Philippine Government made in a pre-requisite payment for all OFW's before we were issued Overseas Employment Certificates. Most OFW's are complaining about this. As for me, a Provident Fund like this forces us to save a part of our income. The amount is all up to the individual anyway. So for those who wants to be updated about their contributions, the Home Development Mutual Fund (aka Pag-ibig Fund) has provided a quick way to validate contributions to the Fund.
- Visit the HDMF official website
- Click on e-services.
- Depending on your status, you can register as a new member, update information using your POP temporary ID Number or Pag-ibig Membership ID (MID).
- Fill in the required information. All are required to have a MID.
- If you dont have a MID, then you have to wait for two days before you get one. A text message will be sent to your nominated mobile number with a transaction number that you can use to get updates on the status of your MID application.
- Once you have your MID, you can now access the other e-services available for OFW.
At the moment, I am waiting out the 2-day processing time. More update soon.
